  1. Welcome to the worlds of Infocom's interactive fiction. This Sampler contains a
  2. Tutorial and samples of four Infocom titles: Zork I, Planetfall, Infidel, and
  3. The Witness.

  5. The Tutorial is an introduction to the concept of interactive fiction. In it,
  6. you will be taken through a brief sample scenario that will allow you to become
  7. comfortable with the way to converse with these stories. After the tutorial,
  8. there will be a brief explanation of how Infocom's interactive fiction is
  9. different from others you might see or hear about.

  11. The sample of Zork I, a fantasy game, includes everything through your
  12. discovery of the main caverns of the Great Underground Empire. In Planetfall, a
  13. science fiction game, you will scramble to survive a shipwreck and land on a
  14. deserted world. If you play Infidel, one of our Tales of Adventure, the sample
  15. will include your search for an ancient pyramid buried beneath the desert
  16. sands. The sample of The Witness will give you a glimpse of the action in this
  17. 30's-style detective thriller.
